Privacy and your email

The short version. I collect your email address if you give it to me, I use it to send you books news and bonus scenes, and I do not give it to anybody else.

What is collected

If you join the Ironwood letter, your email address is stored by EmailOctopus, which is the service that sends the mail. If you asked to join, you will get one message asking you to confirm before anything else is sent, so nobody can add you without your say so.

What it is used for

Sending you the bonus collection, telling you when a book is out, and occasionally writing to you about the series. That is the whole list. Your address is never sold, rented, traded or handed to another author.

Leaving

Every mail I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Using it removes you immediately and you do not have to tell me why. If you would rather your data was deleted outright, write to me at the address below and it will be.

Delivery of the bonus collection

The files are delivered by BookFunnel, which handles the download and the help if a file will not open on your device. BookFunnel receives your email address in order to send you the file and to prove the download worked.

The sign-up form

The sign-up form on the letter pages is provided by EmailOctopus and is loaded from their servers, so opening one of those pages contacts EmailOctopus before you type anything. The form is also protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is how it tells a reader from a bot. reCAPTCHA collects device and usage information for that purpose, and Google handles it under their own privacy policy and terms.

This site

This site runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no visitor tracking of any kind, so I do not know who visits, what you read, or where you came from. I checked the pages as a reader receives them and nothing this site serves sets a cookie in your browser. The theme sets none and the plugins set none for readers. The only exceptions are the two third parties named above, and they only appear on the letter pages.
