Three scenes that are not in the books. They are free, they are only for readers on the Ironwood letter, and they are not for sale anywhere.
Torsten, the second winter
He comes in late and will not touch her, because she is asleep and asleep she cannot say no. She offers him a standing permission. He refuses it, and the reason is the worst thing he ever did.
Sygni, at the market on the stones
She wants a bone whistle that makes one flat stupid note. She cannot ask for it. Halvard stands four feet away and will not help her, because helping her would be the one kindness he has promised never to do.
Ulf, the spring after
The rule that made him say it out loud is struck out of the terms. Nothing in the world makes him say anything now. Maren catches his wrist anyway and tells him to say it.
Each scene takes place after the book it belongs to, and each one gives away that book’s ending. They are in series order so you can stop where your reading stops.
