Reviews are how a book by an author nobody has heard of gets put in front of the next reader. It does not have to be long or clever. One honest line about who the book is for is worth more than a paragraph of praise, because the reader who needs it is scanning for exactly that line and nothing else.

This is the one with Halvard’s rule, the one the whole book is built on: nothing comes to you that you do not ask for, out loud.
